About the lesson
I truly believe that a child's capabilities are endless. As a current English tutor with qualified teacher status, I have experience guiding students every step of the way towards their GCSE exams until they feel confident enough to develop and communicate their own ideas to achieve fantastic grades.
As a teacher but also a mother, there is nothing more special and fulfilling than seeing a child that you are responsible for using their own initiative to work hard at something, something that takes them out of their comfort zone, something that with a little guidance they can build upon to make their own way in the world.
I have a track record of using essential teaching skills such as excellent organisation and time management as proven by my academic and employment record. I understand that at times teaching a child to realise their potential and manage their self-confidence or a negative attitude towards their education can be difficult. However, it can be overcome through various approaches such as assessing their individual needs and creating strategies to assist, motivate and challenge them. I have managed to confront negative attitudes and address the misunderstandings whilst working alongside students who have lacked confidence in their ability to learn English.

About Ella
While at University I was keen to involve myself in lots of voluntary work to experience a variety of roles within education. I have been a Teaching Assistant to SEN children and year 7 students struggling with the step up from KS2 to KS3. I have mentored first-year university students supporting them with their understanding of literary critical theory and writing essays to a degree level standard. I have also been a research room assistant within 3 different Archives and Local History and Information settings.
I have taught in 3 very different secondary schools, completed an extensive CPD record which I continue to update and I have experience working with primary aged children and students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
I have an excellent record of past students with brilliant references and I have Qualified Teacher Status teaching secondary school English Language and Literature as well as being a certified Teacher of PSHE and certified to Teach English as a Foreign Language.
