Gap Year UCL student here, offering Physics and Maths GCSE and A Level tutoring. I had A*s in both at A level. Also an A in Further Maths. My teaching style focuses on helping student understand the base concepts of Maths and Physics so that they are able to deduce answers and truly understand the reasoning behind why they are correct, as opposed to mindless application of memorized formulas.
First lesson will last 3 hours and will be part assessment so that I can form an efficient strategy suited to the student's strengths and weaknesses. This lesson will take place at a location of the student's choosing, with the exception of my home and will be free apart from travel expenses. This is so that the student can see whether they find my tuition of use, without wasting money if they do not. Subsequent lessons can take place at any location of the student's choosing, including my home.
No paid experience yet sadly, though I spent 2 years helping out weekly at my school's Maths help club for GCSE and A level students. I also tutored my friend's sister in Physics GCSE for about 2 months. She got an A.

I am a hardworking individual who likes solving problems and figuring things out. I am resourceful and think well on my feet. I’m also good at finding unobvious and efficient solutions to problems.
I attended Wilson’s Grammar School from 2009 to 2016. I have completed A2 exams and achieved the following grades:
Further Maths A
I’ve also obtained 11 GCSE passes (inc. Maths, English, Triple Sciences and 5 others at Grade A or Above). In addition to this, I’ve completed a Level 2 AQA Certificate course (equivalent to GCSE) in Further Mathematics which I passed with an A* with distinction.
In the Cambridge Chemistry A2 Olympiad, I obtained a Gold certificate, one of only 2 from my year. I have also obtained Gold in the Senior Maths Challenge and a Bronze 1 in the British Physics Olympiad.

Reason for offering tuition
I am currently on a gap year, and will start attending UCL to study Physics in October next year. I feel that since I've led a fairly privileged life as a result of natural academic talent a job in an educational environment is a good way to assist others so that their lives can be made easier. Additionally, I am saving up to go to Japan for part of the year, and getting to do that while participating in the learning environment would be a double win.
