Experience
I am a newly relocated (Calgary to Houston) gardener, grow your own food advocate, urban homesteader/home-maker and self-proclaimed plant nerd.
Since graduating from the Horticulture program at Olds College 22 years ago I have:
*Worked as an Assistant Annual Grower
*Worked the help-desk at a busy garden center
*Worked at a prestigious private golf course
*Worked at a tomato greenhouse
*Worked at a U-Pick Berry Farm
*Started and ran a Market Garden on the family farm (Organic)
*Started and ran a greenhouse
*Sat as Chairman for the local Communities in Bloom Association
*Helped procure funding to expand a local Community Garden Association garden
*Was a guest speaker at multiple elementary schools and brought in many plant and insect friends to introduce to the students as an addition to their plant and insect units in science
*Worked on a private estate garden
*Did some private garden consulting and coaching
My current projects are creating a HOA friendly, pollinator friendly, year-round food-producing, tiki bar oasis in my own new backyard, re-starting my garden blog and visiting as many garden centers as I can.

Greenhouse Grower- grew annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, poinsettias, chrysanthemums, hanging baskets and custom planters. Started most from seed, also did cutting propagation.
Market Gardener - grew several acres of strawberries, saskatoons, raspberries, garden veggies, herbs and cut flowers
Estate Gardener - grew organic vegetables and tea herbs (both greenhouse and in garden), designed planters, beds and displays, decorated for holidays, lawn care, tree pruning and yard care for client.
