I improve my students' grades by tailoring tutorials closely to the mark schemes of their exams, building up the taught material in line with the exam board's specification and guidelines. This ensures that my students know their texts well, and know how to translate that knowledge into high-scoring exam scripts.
I have been giving private tutorials in GCSE and A Level English for four years. I recently brought a student's GCSE English Literature grade up from a 5 to an 8. I am trained in Bystander Intervention Training and as a Peer Supporter, so offer pastoral support to back up my high standard of academic tutoring.

Perfect! Annabelle is taking care of my son, 13, to improve his written and spoken English. After several lessons I can confirm that she is a very well prepared, committed and structured tutor. She knows what to do and we are all very satisfied.
Perfect! Amazing literature tutor! Thumbs up
I enjoyed our first lesson! What did you think of the Ian McKellan Macbeth video? See you next Thursday at 4pm
Perfect! Annabelle is a nice, enthusiastic teacher with extensive knowledge of English and English teaching .She is very supportive of ideas and has very useful techniques for writing which helped me improve the way I write and appropriately identify any sort of mistakes when doing so. I strongly recommend Annabelle!!!
It was lovely to meet Ethan! He has a strong list of activities and interests to put on his personal statement, and we discussed the best way to start writing it. I also suggested that he read one English news article per day as a quick way of improving his English skills. His English is very good on the whole and I am confident that with a bit of work and editing he can produce a great personal statement for his applications.
Annabelle is a wonderful, dedicated and trustworthy tutor. She goes the extra mile in making sure her students are engaged, as well as ensuring they are thinking creatively and critically about what they are studying.
Annabelle is great! My daughter loves her sessions with Annabelle finds them funs so "not a chore". Annabelle knows the curriculum and is very good with exam technique. Capable, inspiring and supportive coach.
I have only had a few lessons with Annabelle, but I have already improved immensely in English thanks to her. Her teaching method is very concise, helpful and engaging. She covers all the topics I require so that I'm confident in my knowledge of the subject. She also gives valuable feedback and suggestions to improve my personal weak areas.
Annabelle is intelligent and can enthusiastically explain any subject in English. She is supportive and won't move on to another topic until you're happy with it. I always leave her lesson well-informed, pleased and anticipating the next one. Highly recommend! : )
Annabelle is always prompt, attentive, and specialises the tutoring around what the pupil finds comfortable whilst maintaining academic rigour and working towards a clear goal. All of her material is original and tailored, and in my experience can provide equal benefit from beginners to intermediate learners alike.
Annabelle is an extremely clever, friendly, and helpful colleague. She would make an excellent tutor, and has shown to have good communication skills and organisation skills.
