I like to spend my lessons first explaining the theory and key concepts and then working an example together with the student. This way, the student can understand and is able to apply what they have learnt to practical problems. I also like to give them further resources to practice on for the following lesson so they are able to consolidate their learning.
I have been teaching at GCSE level for a few years and have a lot of experience at understanding each pupil's needs. I enjoy maths and I hope to inspire my pupils with my passion for the subject.

Currently I am tutoring students in Physics for their GCSE exams; I find that helping my peers has definitely developed and improved my communication skills. I am proud of my involvement with them, not only has it enhanced my knowledge, better understanding of Physics and in turn I have learnt a lot in the process. This experience has allowed personal growth as I had to adapt to the students’ learning style and explain concepts from a different perspective.
In August 2019, I attended one week of Senior Space School at the University of Leicester. While I was there, I strengthened my ability to problem solve as I was given numerous tasks to complete within a tight timeframe. At the end of the week, my group and I launched a rocket that propelled both automatically and successfully. This unique experience required a lot of communication skills and team work in order to achieve a fully functioning rocket. Furthermore, as part of the programme, I had the opportunity to experience the environment and how astronauts worked in Space with zero gravity. I took a scuba diving lesson along with the other students in my group and we were faced with multiple tasks to perform underwater. For example, we had to place a lander in the designated zone marked underwater and we only had one attempt and a time limit. The process was extremely hard and it required a lot of perseverance and group cohesion to succeed in it.
In July 2018, I took part in a one week long work experience at the Mullard Space Science laboratory (MSSL) where I shadowed a group of post graduate students in observing the Space weather and its effects on the Sun and our planet. We had to evaluate how living organisms would be impacted if Space weather like coronal mass ejections ever hit the Earth and analytically come up with a plan on how to deal with. I found the experience liberating as it inspired me to learn more about our solar system and also other factors that will be impacted due to the effect of Space weather, such as, our economy, our safety and our resources. This supported my ability to work as a group and reinforced the importance of problem solving.
Since June 2017, I have been regularly volunteering and assisting in Year 10 and 11 Physics and Maths classes to hopefully make a difference in their understanding of key concepts, boost their confidence in the subject and inspire them with my passion for Physics and Maths.
