I work closely alongside the exam syllabus to deliver topic by topic lessons, trying to establish links between them as much as possible. I encourage my students to look ahead at upcoming topics so that they have a good grasp of the topic before it is delivered in school. With Biology and Chemistry, I ask students to liase with me as to what they are being taught in the classroom so we can strengthen their understanding. Each lesson usually starts with a quick review of our previous meeting and we outline achievements for the lesson ahead. I normally start with the key principles of the topic, making sure that we have a strong foundation to build on before we move to more advanced content. Alongside this, I will happily answer and discuss any questions you have. We will work through exam questions as we complete topics to continuously work on exam techniques and answering styles. On occasions, I can give work outside the lesson, often to consolidate and review the topic but can also include questions to complete as we progress closer to exams.
I am an enthusiastic and passionate Biochemistry student currently studying at the University of Leicester. Having been teaching GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Maths to students for the past year and having achieved A's, I am comfortable with the exam syllabi and the formats. I'm flexible, approachable and easy to talk to so will certainly give you a good learning environment, which will all help you achieve your very best.
