About Giacomo

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been involved with music and music-making from a very young age. I sang in many choirs and played in orchestras and ensembles throughout school and university.
In terms of musical experience:
- Principal Oboe of the Durham University Symphony Orchestra and Durham University Chamber Orchestra (2009 - 2011)
- Principal Cor Anglais of the Durham University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras (2009 - 2011)
- Principal Oboe of the University of York Chamber Orchestra (2012)
- Principal Cor Anglais of the English School's Orchestra (2006)

I have also attended summer schools and courses on singing and vocal techniques such as the Eton Choral Courses (2005 - 2008)

All of these have aided in my development as an all round musician and I have sharpened my skills through academic and practical work at university.

I have also been teaching the Oboe and Cor Anglais for several years to mature students and I am involved in taking part in and leading workshops at different schools in the York area with the Music Education Group of the University of York.

I was brought up in an Italian household and was taught to speak it from a very early age, I feel that my fluency in Italian and my knowledge of the English language can together provide a very useful tool for anyone seeking to learn Italian from scratch, practice conversation or discuss and improve their Italian at an advanced level.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
