I think that when teaching drawing it is essential that lessons are catered to the specific needs and wants of the student. For this reason I generally provide one to one tuition, constructing lesson plans based on what the student wishes to achieve as well as what might allow their understanding of different skills to expand and develop.
Drawing significantly improves visual confidence and so this usually underpins much of my teaching as we move on to developing skills in painting, printmaking, collage, photoshop and other experimental techniques.
I usually teach in the student's home and some weeks if possible, I like to incorporate drawing based museum and gallery visits.
My experience is in teaching children aged 9 - 16 but would happily consider taking on pupils of different ages/abilities. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
Having completed an intensive year long course at the Royal Drawing School in London, I am now studying Painting and Printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art.
I have experience teaching and developing student's skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and digital techniques such as Adobe Photoshop. I have predominantly worked with developing the portfolios of children applying to art scholarships/approaching art examinations at school.
