About Jasmine
My name is Jasmine. My students call me Jasmine, Ms. Jasmine, or Teacher Jasmine based on their preference. I am an educator and Ph.D. student who loves teaching, tutoring and working with children/teens. Math and English are my favorite subjects with math being my ultimate favorite. I am working towards my math credential for Florida. I moved to Florida in 2021 to be closer to Universal (Harry Potter's World) and Disney World. I absolutely love Florida! I have worked in a few childcare centers over the past 15 years, I have homeschooled 13 children, and I worked as an after-school educator for 3rd grade at a Charter School. In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, reading books, cooking, traveling, and writing. My favorite things/places are Disney, Harry Potter, Twilight, and Paris.

I enjoy teaching and helping my students to achieve their goals. Our first session is a meet and greet, discussion of goals, and an assessment to find out the strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to create a tailored made lesson plan that we can build on as you learn and master new concepts. I have access to a variety of resources for all grade levels and together we choose the best resources to assist in the learning process. Sometimes the needs and goals change so I reassess and update the lesson plan. I like to take concepts and break them into smaller segments that can be built upon after mastery is reached. This ensures that my students feel confident in their approach and understand the concept. This approach works really well for grades K-6th, especially if there are learning gaps from previously learned material. Additionally, whenever possible, I like to incorporate my student's interests, hobbies, and favorite characters into our lessons.
