I am a South-West London-based clarinet teacher who teaches a range of standards from beginner to advanced as well as all age groups. I also teach saxophone up to Grade 5. As a theory teacher, I can teach up to Grade 5 theory where necessary as well as providing aural training for graded exams. I have a 100% pass record for ABRSM exams. Alongside my private teaching, I have been working as a woodwind tutor for Wandsworth Schools' Music Service since 2018.
I have experience teaching all ages and all levels, and would suggest either a 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute lesson depending on each students age and experience.
As a teacher, I'm very happy to work through the ABRSM/Trinity/MTB exam syllabus and encourage students to do so, I also teach many pupils who play for pleasure and I'm happy to support those who don't want to take exams.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate as well as public liability insurance.
I believe music lessons should always be fun, encouraging and engaging! I am a cheerful and thoughtful clarinet teacher who puts a large amount of pride and professionalism into my work as well as a young, fresh approach. If you have any questions/queries, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
Born in South Derbyshire, I moved to London in 2013 to study clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I graduated with first class honours. After this, I completed a Masters degree at the Royal College of Music, finishing my studies in 2019.
I've been teaching privately since 2017 and in 2018, I began working as woodwind tutor for Wandsworth Music, working in schools and the Saturday Music Academy in the borough. I've also worked in secondary schools in south Croydon, teaching clarinet and saxophone. I also have a large amount of experience with teaching adult students of all ages and capabilities.
Since finishing my studies, I have balanced a busy life of being a freelance musician and teaching. Passionate about education and outreach work, I also work for a charity called the Wind-Up Penguin Theatre Company, bringing music and theatre to children in disadvantaged countries around the world. My most recent work with the charity has included a two week project to Lebanon, performing in refugee settlements, schools and humanitarian projects, working with thousands of displaced children across Beirut and the Beqaa Valley.
