About Naomi
I am a guitar tutor with 10 years of experience and a B.A. in Modern Guitar Performance. My journey began with a fascination for how the guitar can express emotion, energy, and personality across so many genres. Over the years, I have taught students of different ages and backgrounds, helping them move from uncertainty to confident playing. I believe guitar learning should feel inspiring, structured, and enjoyable. My approach focuses on both technical growth and creative exploration.
I specialize in helping learners develop rhythm confidence, chord fluency, and expressive musicality. Lessons are designed to match each student’s pace and musical interests, whether they enjoy pop, rock, acoustic, blues, or singer-songwriter styles. I create an encouraging environment where mistakes are part of learning, not something to fear. Students gain confidence through clear practice strategies and steady progress.
Outside teaching, I remain connected to guitar through arranging, songwriting, and exploring new techniques and styles. Teaching is fulfilling because I see students discover their own musical voice. My goal is to help learners enjoy guitar as a lifelong companion, offering creativity, relaxation, and confidence. Music becomes something they can carry with them forever.

In my lessons, I focus on helping learners build practical skills such as chord fluency, rhythm accuracy, strumming control, and finger coordination. From the very first sessions, students learn how to create music that feels satisfying, not just exercises that feel repetitive. I introduce guitar through approachable songs, structured technique practice, and clear guidance that keeps progress steady. Whether students want to play casually, join a band, or improve musical understanding, lessons are designed to feel supportive and exciting.
Teaching is always personalized. Beginners start with basic open chords, simple strumming patterns, hand positioning, and timing fundamentals. Intermediate learners explore barre chords, fingerstyle techniques, scale navigation, and stronger musical independence. Advanced students focus on improvisation, lead guitar phrasing, tone shaping, songwriting, and performance preparation. I also incorporate ear training and musical theory in an accessible way, helping students understand what they are playing rather than memorizing shapes. Each lesson balances discipline with creativity.
Guitar learning builds more than musical skill—it develops patience, confidence, and self-expression.
