The most important asset I have as a tutor, is understanding a pupils level and how to push them so they get the most out of each lesson and learn quickly! I take a chilled out approach to tutoring, I understand that most people are busy during the week and don't always have loads of time to practise. Having said that, its always important to be challenged when learning as that's where you will see progression.
So whether you want to learn grades or just casual lessons, I will tailor each lesson specifically for you.
I teach guitar privately and in secondary schools. I work every day, and throughout the years have taught thousands of lessons. I teach casual lessons and Rockschool grades, and none of my students fail.
My lessons can take place either at my home or remotely over Skype or FaceTime, which I have found to be very easy and straightforward to do.
Besides teaching guitar, I also work as a session musician, being fortunate enough to travel to cool places and play Glastonbury 2017.
I mainly teach contemporary guitar, and try to keep a lot of the songs I use as stepping stones to be current, or to fit the students musical taste.
I teach: Blues / Blues Rock / Pop / Metal / Funk / Finger Style / Acoustic / Music Theory / Fretboard Studies.
I charge an extra £5 for students I travel to.
I have a £20 cancellation policy if the lesson is cancelled the day of the lesson and can't be rescheduled. I will always try to free up space to accommodate students who need to cancel last minute.

I'm a leftie and over the years I've had lessons from 3 teachers and Andy is the only one who can understand how I play. He is methodical and makes lessons fun.
He explains things well and had a lot of patience.
He is also a very good guitarist
Highly recommend! - I have been getting lessons from Andy for just over three years now, I have gone from knowing a few cords and playing in my bedroom, to playing in pubs and venues in cover bands. I was initially uncertain about getting lessons, but Andy has been fantastic! He's very patient and has brought me to a level of playing that I never thought I would reach.
Andy is a great guitar tutor and very patient, which is good when im struggling to play something. He always has a lot of different teaching techniques which really help me play some of the chords/melodies I have struggled with.
Very fair and trustworthy tutor!
He’s very polite and patient. Willing to go the extra mile to make sure all his students understand and progress to their fullest potential! He’s a very well qualified guitarist and has a lot of experience in the music industry.
On my eighth guitar lesson with Andy now and all of them have been exactly what I would hope for. He's always super friendly, patient and, what helps me the most, is happy to move at a pace that best suited my ability level. Highly recommended.
