I am contactable from 9am till 9pm and am happy to teach 7 days a week throughout the year (including half term and holiday tuition).
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I like to work with a variety of age groups and levels including Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. I have significant experience in teaching the 11+ where the goal is to achieve entry to either the grammar or private school of choice. I have also worked at Young England Kindergarten where I assisted in both work and play with children aged 2-5 years.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Confidence is key in all academic study, at all levels. I strive to inspire my students to have confidence in what they do. I create a fun and interactive environment to nurture the child's potential. Each student learns in a unique way so it is my job to tailor my approach to suit their needs.
I encourage my students to outline what it is they would like to achieve in a session and then, after the tuition, ask them to give notes to themselves on how they feel they have progressed. As well as highlighting their strengths I encourage them to make sense of the areas of study with which they struggle, in their own words. I find that their identifying these weaknesses allows them to find a way to make sense of a problem and move on with greater ease.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have worked for Bespoke Tuition for the past 6 months, tutoring English and Maths 11+. Prior to this, I have worked independently as a tutor whilst at university in Leeds and in London teaching English and Geography.
I have 100% success rate in preparation for the eleven plus exams to gain entry into St Pauls, Westminster, The Dragon School and Godolphin & Latymer.
I also work part time for ChickenShed, an inclusive theatre company, where I am responsible for children with special needs and learning disabilities.
