I am a pianist and teacher living in Central London, regularly giving concerts and teaching around 30 pupils per week.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach piano, aural and music theory at all levels for children and adults. I also regularly accompany instrumentalists for concerts, auditions and ABRSM exams.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied at both Chethams School of Music and the Purcell School of Music. I hold a Bachelor and Masters in Performance Degree from the Royal College of Music.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £60 per hour. Lessons can take place at your home for an additional fee of £10. Discounts are available when paying each half term in advance.
- Where do you teach?
I teach mainly from home but can also come to you within central London.
- When are you available?
I teach every weekday evening and during the weekends to allow maximum flexibility for pupils and parents.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I have taught as young as 3 and as old as 70! I am fully qualified and experienced to teach beginners through to post grade 8 and diploma standard students.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Most students prepare for ABRSM examinations and some students choose to audition for the London Music Colleges, as well as music scholarships at secondary school level.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Online tutoring is via Skype. You must have a good internet connection! Fees are charged per lesson via bank transfer at £50.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Everyone is in different situations and I happy to help you achieve any of your musical goals. Consistency and dedication is an important quality in our work as musicians and I try very hard with all my students to open up their possibilities and for them to achieve their potentials. I welcome pupils who also have a good work ethic and a strong interest in musical education and performance.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I believe my understanding of music has grown through my performing career and this has a direct influence on my teaching methods and my ability to gain results from my students. As a pianist I have performed worldwide, am a signed recording artist and have won prizes in several international piano competitions.
As a teacher I have had over 15 years of experience, both privately and in some of the most prestigious schools in London including Latymer Upper and Eaton House. I have taught both children and adults from beginners to post grade 8 and diploma standard. . Lessons in music theory and aural training are also available at all levels.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes I am fully DBS checked.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at Chethams School of Music, Purcell School of Music The Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music. I have taken masterclasses worldwide with various professors including Richard Goode, Galina Eguiazarova and Dmitri Bashkirov.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach around 30 pupils per week. My students range from beginners to ambitious pianists preparing for auditions at conservatory level.
