Oct 2018 – Present: Head of Science/Teacher of Science – Abu Bakr Boys School. Walsall.

Working within a close knit team, I am responsible for the delivery of the core AQA combined science (trilogy) curriculum to our year 11 students and key preparation for their final GCSE examinations in summer.

This involves fostering an inclusive learning environment whilst maintaining high expectations and standards for in both behaviour and academic achievement.

Closely monitoring progress in internally set topic tests and mock examinations, together with setting of appropriate levels of homework and records of students’ work.

Dec 2016 – Sep 2018 : A Level Science Teacher – Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School. Wednesbury.

Responsible for the delivery of the core year 12 and 13 curriculum. Plan work in accordance with departmental schemes of work and AQA exam board specifications.

Liaising with relevant colleagues on the planning of units of work for collaborative delivery, setting of topic homework assignments and assessments.

Setting high expectations for students’ behaviour by establishing a purposeful working atmosphere in accordance with the school’s behaviour code. Setting appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning, motivation and presentation of work.
