Hello my name is Marian, I have just finished my a levels in maths ,biology and chemistry and I am offering tutoring for GCSE (maths,English language, sciences and Religious education)

About the lesson

I approach a topic by first trying to learn how much the person I am teaching already knows about a topic by just asking them to do 1 or two standard questions. This gives me the idea of any misconceptions or knowledge they lack on that topic. Then, I teach them the fundamentals of that topic by going through questions that highlight the different fundamental principles. Then I try to get them to do a few questions individually and if they are comfortable with that then I move on to harder application questions. However, my main goal is to ensure the the student is understanding the topic and I am always willing to explain things as many times and possible and use analogies to make them more comfortable with what they are learning. I also at points within a session like to have brief discussions so I know how the student feels and how to tailor my teaching style to suit them.
