About the lesson
Vocal lessons are available both online (Zoom) and in-person in Liverpool (a professional location in Liverpool - not in my/your home) and are aimed at you getting to explore your voice and progress towards your goals using a variety of vocal and performance techniques. My role is to be your biggest cheerleader and help equip you to keep moving forward in your singing!
- Vocal Coaching
I’m a singer-songwriter as well as a singing teacher with over 10 years professional experience so I bring my knowledge from both sides to enable your best vocal development. I achieved Grade 8 Popular Vocals and Music Theory before gaining my first class Performance Industries BA (Hons) which included vocal performance. I also have Enhanced DBS clearance. I’m passionate about seeing singers feel freer in body, mind + voice to reach their goals. I’d love to hear from you if you like the sound of that!
Perfect! Already learnt a crazy amount in one lesson! Josephine made me feel confident and comfortable straight away
- Josephine's response : A great first lesson with an enthusiastic singer-songwriter.

I’ve had singing lessons with Josephine for about 3 years now and I fully recommend her. Her lessons are helpful, fun and creative. She genuinely wants her students to do well and progress. She gives a lot of useful tips and advice.
Josephine has been teaching on Zoom for over a year and half. She has built up my confidence massively with her teaching and I've made great progress in my singing. On top of that the lessons are fun and relaxed and they brighten my week
Josephine is such a great tutor! I really have grown in confidence with singing and being comfortable with my range! She is very kind and always has me laughing and leaving in a good mood!
Josephine was truly brilliant. Friendly and encouraging she pointed out several areas where I could improve and although singing in front of someone can be daunting I did not find that so with her. I’m definitely going back for more sessions.
I would recommend Josephine because she has helped me build confidence in my ability and encourages me when I need it the most. Josephine is super flexible with times which works great around a busy schedule!

Is there a particular type music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
Maybe not a specific type as such, but I definitely have favourite albums which often happen to be Soul, Pop or contemporary Christian.
Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
So beyond helping individual singing students gain technical and expressive skills… something I'm passionate about is vocal harmony! So I could share a lot on that (& sometimes do in workshops!)
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
Probably the harp or something! But based on my personal experience of instruments I actually play (to varying levels)… I found flute and piano easier than violin and guitar.
Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
Maybe in a coffee shop mid-morning… I'd love to meet Stevie Wonder, Backstreet Boys (teen me!), and Mary Mary.
