Communication with the student is the key, to see where do the problem come for him or her! I then rigorously check the pupil's level:
-If there are any core difficulties, we start again together to see where they come from, and then only go deeper.
-A fast look at the lessons, and then practice.
-Once every 2/3 weeks, I usually plan a test to see if those difficulties have been overcome or if they need more time to get integrated.
-Specific test correction with time spent on each one to spot the difficulties and work more on them.
