First, I prepare and deliver guided learning: producing appropriate schemes of work/lesson plans; promoting the effective use of individual learning plans and use technology to improve outcomes for students. Second, Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking. Lastly I provide constructive feedback: setting mark, correct and assess individual students’ work in a timely way against comprehensive learning and objectives.
I gained fluency in Spanish, English and intermediate French while travelling, volunteering and studying in Panamá, Spain, France and Britain. My Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies with languages and literature gave me an in-depth awareness of the history and art of many diverse countries. It also equipped me with strong theoretical insights and analytical skills to understand how society is reflected in literature and visual arts, and how human perception of those arts has changed over the centuries. In 2017 I completed my Master’s in Comparative Literature at the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna. It’s interdisciplinary programme strengthened my critical thinking and research skills, teaching me how to identify and utilise different sources and materials, to integrate them and compare literary works in various languages. My dissertation research centred on the English painter and writer Leonora Carrington, focusing on her connection with the Surrealist movement, Carl Jung’s psychology and her particular feminist outlook. While writing my thesis, I sourced documents at the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation in Venice, learning how to analyse primary sources in archives and carry out specialised research.
