As a tutor I strive to equip my tutees with the skills required to think critically and problem solve. I highlight the contextual relevance of the mathematics and science they’re learning so they can understand the importance and relate the material to their reality rather than viewing it as a separate, meaningless entity. I focus on combining the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning styles to ensure deeper learning occurs and every part of my lessons will be imbued with encouragement. I maintain the sense of structure and order that many students are lacking at this present moment whilst balancing it with fun and enjoyment so that they are motivated to learn.
I started a Physics and philosophy degree at the University of Leeds in the academic year 2019/2020 however my interests evolved and I’m now set to start a Biomedical science degree at the University of Sheffield. I obtained 4 A levels (B-A) and was due to begin a role as a GCSE mathematics tutor with The Tutor Trust before the COVID-19 pandemic progressed and schools were forced to close.
Madeline has been a kind and considerate friend of mine for years. Upon encountering any struggles, she will always provide thoughtful advice and solutions to problems. Her genuine, caring attitude will reflect in her tutoring, making her a very supportive teacher who will inspire her students to improve and achieve! She is very knowledgeable and inspired by her subject, which I am sure will reflect positively on her students and inspire them also. Despite her never tutoring me personally (in a professional setting), she has helped me as a fellow student in the past by explaining principles very clearly and precisely, which has helped my understanding of things. I can recommend her to any student wishing for a tutor who will bring out the best of their strengths and improve their weaknesses, whilst having an enjoyable lesson with a lovely person.
I believe Madeline is perfect for this role as a trustworthy tutor because she always puts 101% into everything she does. I’ve witnessed this first hand during her completing her A Levels and starting at university. Madeline is a caring, understanding and patient person. As well as this she is brilliant at making anyone and everyone feel comfortable and confident in what they are doing. Anyone who has the opportunity to have Madeline tutor them will be very lucky.
Madeline and I are close friends and I can confidently say that she is a wonderful tutor. She is amazing at mathematics, great at communication and a very reliable person. I would absolutely recommend her for great quality help with your Maths work.
