I use the CELTA method, this means a clear lesson plan covering the aims of the lesson, the objectives and how this will come about. This is vital for both teacher and student.
I go over the last lesson at the beginning of the lesson before proceeding to the next topic. This is done in a fun way where possible, using audio (songs or listening) and inactive activities where possible.
The student is given a clear lesson plan stating what we will be covering during the lesson and what the expected outcome will be.
I believe that as a teacher, my aim is not just to share my knowledge of the language but to make the student want to learn more and enjoy the process. I have had over 29 years experience all over the world from Singapore to Rome.
I started my teaching career in Singapore teaching Italians English at Dante Alighieri. We were then transferred to Rome, where I began my career by teaching in a kindergarten. I then became the personal tutor and assistant to the area chair for ICP APA and Sips. I was headhunted by the Università di Roma, where I ran 18 courses from A1 to B2. We were transferred to Bologna where I worked for the British Institutes. When we were transferred to Como I worked for The Oxford Centre.
Recently, I have worked for The British School in Rome for both External Services, ENAC and FIEG and for their school in Clodio.
