Highly experienced Dental University student gives Maths, Chemistry, Biology lessons to students from primary school through to A-Levels.

Methodology

I am a Dental Student at King's College London offering private online tuition for students at primary school through to A-Levels.
I am very experienced at teaching, I have taught lessons privately, tutored as a group and also run my own tutoring business for prospective dental students. I know what type of learning style works best for each individual student. I am dedicated, hard working and my grades have been exceptional- which is why I would love to replicate this to my students!
I aim to make a detailed plan with my students in their first session and then work through our objectives bit by bit, focussing on any difficulties and most importantly going at their pace.
I will help them get the grades they want!

Background

My teaching experience are as follows:

University Interview Course Runner
UniDentists - London - 2015-12 - Present
I run an annual dental interview preparation course, UniDentists, helping sixth formers achieve their dream of getting into a dental school. Preparing for and running this course required commitment and dedication- both qualities which I possess. It was a great success last year and the feedback received was extremely positive. I gave lectures on communication, one on one personalised tips and held mock interviews- all of which required different styles of teaching.
Private Tutor
London - 2014 - 2016-08
I have also done some private tutoring where I was able to give my student great care and attention, each week monitoring their progress.
Tutor
JEMS Tuition - London - 2014-01 - 2016-02
I also tutored in a group setting for 2 years at JEMS tuition centre. Here I taught students of different ages, from Year 4- Year 12 and I showed no difficulty in doing so. I was friendly and understanding and this enabled me to develop patience to direct my teaching technique to each individual pupil. I learnt that each student had different academic abilities and required a unique method of teaching which I was able to fulfil.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am a hardworking, committed and passionate person, who always gives one hundred percent in everything that I participate in. Having been involved in many extra-curricular activities, I have been moulded into a confident professional; which is required to undertake a job in tutoring.
Volunteering:
Kings’ College Hospital- Working within a healthcare environment has enhanced my communication skills with a vast majority of people from all ages, both young and old. This role required friendliness, calmness and integrity within a multidisciplinary team; all of which I was able to execute. Conversing with younger children about simple day to day topics and giving them that confidence to smile and be satisfied with who they are was truly rewarding.
Dementia Centre: Working and helping patients that have this degenerative disease requires empathy and patience. There, I participated in a First Aid Basic Life Support workshop, which I am now qualified fully for and have that duty of care to give back to the community.
Extracurricular Activities:
Gym- I attend the gym 5 days a week without fail, and this has taught me that with endurance and persistence comes great rewards. It has given me stamina and this is a hobby that I wish to continue and elevate in.
Swimming- doing this 2 days a week has given me discipline, and being part of the swimming team at my university has encouraged me to be able to work as part of a team efficiently and effectively.
I took part in Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and this was an experienced not be forgotten. The trek and camping expedition challenged me both physically and emotionally; and I learnt that with perseverance, as well as tolerance and respect for other members of the group is key to obtain the ideal goal.
I speak fluent English, Arabic and British Sign Language which further enhances my interpersonal skills.
Tutoring experience:
I have tutored in a group setting for 2 years and have adopted different methods of teaching using visual aids, analogies and active learning depending on the student and what their preferred method of learning is.
I have also given private tutoring lessons for students of all ages and thus have learnt to be very versatile.
I ran the “UniDentists” course helping sixth formers with dental interview practise and it was a great success. It will be run every year and requires great commitment from myself.
