In my A-level History and Politics classes, I use a multitude of teaching techniques in order to ensure the best outcomes for my students. I focus heavily on essay technique, comprehension and recall, through the use of engaging group essay writing techniques and source analysis skills. Key Historical and political events are examined in detail, including there short and long term impacts.
I am an A-level (16-18) History and Politics teacher based in South London. I have been teaching in a sixth form college, just south of London, for three years now. I currently teaching approximately 2000 students, with two classes of A-level History, and eight classes of both lower and upper sixth Politics A-level on the Edexcel Specification. Over the years I have taught approximately 800 students, most of whom go on to achieve excellent results. As a department we have a 68% A*-B rate, and since my tenure in the department, this has risen by 10%. The majority of my students go on to study at high standard universities, with many of them now studying either History or Politics.
