I add £20 per visit for sessions in the student's home.

Where do you teach?
I teach in my little studio, a quiet oasis in bustling Wandsworth, South West London. Most students come to me because they enjoy access to art materials and a small library of history of art and fine art books. In special circumstances, I will travel, depending on location. Please ask me if you need me to travel to you.

Also, I teach vocational, life style and adult learning courses for personal development.

Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have particular knowledge and experience preparing A-level History of Art students to sit the Edexcel syllabus.

Art and Design GCSE, A-level for AQA and Edexcel boards.

I currently provide a valuable tutoring, mentor and support to higher education students at BA, MA levels. I am currently mentoring one long term Phd student through her Fine Art Research.

Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
For those students who love the immediate and flexible online method, I use a professional conferencing platform called GoToMeeting. This offers an enhanced learning experience — essays can be worked on together and I can record your tutorials for you to use as a recap and revision. I enjoy online tutoring, it is flexible and fun.

Do you have a personal message for students?
Yes I do. My personal message for you is that with the enthusiasm and dedication from the right tutor, you can do it. And do it better than you imagined possible. As a student, you may really value the opportunity to be mentored through tough times. Additionally a tutor offers new angles and approaches that can enrich your experience and improve results. And as a mature student I understand the challenges that life flings, whilst remembering that learning really does change lives, brings confidence and makes a difference.

Super tutor

Julia Jane is one of our best tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

Experience

I currently teach A-level History of Art and Fine Art in sixth form colleges. Additionally, I am a Lecturer at Morley College, Waterloo, London.

As an Arts Educator, I provide private tuition to many students. This successful venture grew out of having worked in education and training since 1990. It is now just over 10 years ago, that I decided to put my History of Art and Fine Art qualifications to good use and began to develop my Arts Education practice in 2010. I have never looked back!

Julia Jane has a wide knowledge of drawing and painting techniques and her lessons were innovative and imaginative. Her MA in Art history meant that she was able to explain the work of many diverse artists and movements. She has a deep knowledge of German Expressionism for example.

Julia is an extremely interesting and humorous individual which meant that her teaching held people's attention and made learning fun.
