About Sophie
English Literature is a great passion of mine and I want to share that passion with a younger generation of readers. I understand that preparation for tests can be stressful and uncovering deeper meaning in tricky texts demanding, however, I am here to ease the process and make learning more enjoyable. I want students to take pleasure in getting lost in novels and forming connections with the text as I have found genuine interest to be the best tool for learning, it is how I achieved high grades and how I intend to teach.

My lessons will take students through novels, plays or poetry, making sure each element is understood and analyses. Questions are encouraged to open up deeper conversations about texts.
Lessons are 1 hour and aimed at GCSE and A-Level English Literature students with set texts they want to cover. I have experience teaching students from school as an in school tutor and greatly boosted test results and appreciation for works. I am well acquainted with many authors' works and texts so will be able to provide insightful analysis (in particular for Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alan Bennett, Virginia Wolf and much more)
