Although my experience is tutoring at degree level, I can teach at GCSE, A level and university level (preferably first and second year students). I am originally from Portsmouth but now live in Liverpool, and have been studying history since a very early age.
My approach to teaching revolves around a student-centered method of instructing by operating under an open classroom model where the student may speak their mind on any aspect of what is being taught. We will undergo the learning process together so that the student may develop a more independent, hands-on attitude to learning that will significantly help them study outside of the classroom for their current exams and in the future. When studying history it is important to be objective, so I will actively encourage the student to look at all perspectives during the learning process.
I am a History Graduate who has given private tutoring to three other university students whilst undertaking my degree. As of 2020 I shall be completing a PGCE in History which will allow me to be a fully qualified teacher. I have received an award at university known as Herbert Marion Finegan Memorial Prize for the highest performance in a Medieval History paper for the year 2018/19. Although this was awarded for medieval history I am happy to teach any aspect of history from any time period and part of the world, everything peaks my interest.

BA History with Egyptology graduate from the University of Liverpool with experience in tutoring history university students in their first and second year. Aspirations to undertake a PGCE in History at the University of Cambridge in the 2020/21 academic year. I am confident, driven and determined to succeed in every part of my working life. During my undergraduate education I developed first-rate organisational and planning skills, whilst working independently and using my own initiative to excel in my academic career. These skills allowed me to obtain not only a First Class degree, but also resulted in being awarded the Herbert Marion Finegan Memorial Prize for the highest performance in a Medieval History paper for the year 2018/19. Furthermore, I also achieved a First in the Egyptology side of my degree, a subject which I had little to no knowledge of prior to my time at university, therefore showing that I can adapt to and learn a subject and vocation with little previous experience. One of the most satisfactory parts of my university experience was witnessing the students that I tutored understand what they were learning under my instruction, and knowing that I impacted their education in a positive way. Because of this, and due to my experience as a whole, my undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool has caused me to develop an enthusiastic interest in the education sector, one which I am very keen to pursue as a career.
