I find the most successful way to teach is to approach the work that has already been produced. Not just finished pieces but also sketchbooks to get a clear picture of the working process and also subjects that interest you. From here we can identify and discuss what you feel works and doesn't work within your practice and what you'd like to develop further (whether that's something you're struggling with or something new you want to explore). This ensures you get the most out of your time in these sessions but also gives you the skills to continually self evaluate which will push your practice further even when you aren't consciously thinking about it! In terms of setting, I find it best to work both in the comfort of your own home and in situ. Often what inspires us doesn't happen to be in the living room and so going out and engaging with the raw subject matter is key.
I have recently graduated from The Cambridge School of Art with a BA (Hons) Degree in Illustration! I have taught many students from GCSE to those leaving school and preparing for university interviews. I have also worked with adults who are keen to develop a pre-existing knowledge of the arts. It has been fantastic to see their work progress as they unlock their potential and a joy to see their passion grow.
My rates are the same for all abilities! Be it developing your practice as an adult, A-Levels or GSCE.
Rates are subject to the possibility of travel costs (please do not be put off by this as it only applies if your home is particularly far away and all costs are always discussed upfront)
Excellent! Abigail worked well with my little man who is 8 years old, they were able to do fun drawing with Abigail adapting to my son's needs/requirement. First lesson went really well and I will be continuing. I would recommend this tutor
