Improve your spoken English (accent, grammar and vocabulary) through fun, friendly conversation!
Methodology
With me, you WON'T be sitting in a chair reading structured sentences from a boring book - instead, we WILL be out and about visiting parks, cafes, galleries etc, talking about and interacting with the world around us! I believe learning happens best in a fun and relaxing environment.
No matter where you are from, I can help you with pronouncing tricky words, improving your accent, clarifying grammar/word order rules, highlight particularly 'British' sounds that you can apply to all of your speaking... whatever you need. As we go, we can write down things for you to remember, for you to practise in your own time.
I will always make sure you feel comfortable speaking, and give you all the time you need. No judgements! We 'work' at your pace, and I fully adjust to your level. You lead the way!
Experience
Hi! I'm Simon, I'm a British theatre performer, based in Bristol. I've travelled the world with my work, and have always enjoyed picking up bits of local language on my journey - language has always been an interest of mine since I was a boy. I especially love learning about where words come from, and how languages influence each other. I recently spent 3 years living in China, which was an amazing and enriching experience! I have made many friends from every corner of the world now, and feel like I am part of a worldwide community.
I have given informal language lessons to many of my non-English-speaking colleagues over the years (mostly in China), and believe that for the serious learner, putting language into practise is the best way to learn how to really communicate effectively.
