I like to base my teaching upon each child’s individual needs. I find it is best to teach to the child rather than using approaches they struggle with. When it comes to teaching music theory I feel that children work best through rhymes and acronyms. This can also be associated when teaching curriculum lessons, such as English writing and History. It is best to understand the type of learner the child is whether is is Visual, Kinesthetic or Auditory.
I studied at Edge Hill University for three years where I grew as a teacher. My previous education included A level whereby I studied Biology, Psychology, Music and History. Furthermore to this, I have also played the piano for 13 years and have successfully achieved my grade 8 as well has Grade 5 music theory. From this, I have taught at a local music school whereby I taught individual piano lessons to students as well as group theory lessons.
