Confidence building is key! I aim to make all topics accessible- if one way of solving a problem doesn't suit, I pursue others until we find something which you can understand and remember easily. I relate the mathematical scenarios to real life examples so the student can make logic connections and apply to future questions. I don't give "homework" but rather practice suggestions if the student wants to challenge themselves as I don't believe my teaching should be an extra workload- I hope it can reduce the workload from school and explain things in an accessible, enthusiastic way.
I'm a third year student in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University. I'm 20 years old- I still remember and sit Maths tests so in my teaching I try to relate Maths to every-day scenarios so the student can relate with the concepts and ideas rather than rote-learning methods. I've been helping younger students with Maths since I was 15- I am very passionate about the topic and believe everyone can learn if the teaching is tailored correctly. If you're willing to learn, please get in touch with me so we can have a chat and decide if you'd like to continue with me in the future. Best of luck in finding your ideal tutor!
