My teaching methodology is first to set up some questions relating to a particular topic to understand the skill level of the student. Depending on the skill level, I will decide on the level of explanation needed for each topic. Once I have explained I will ensure that the students complete the tasks with no help unless they are completely stuck. Once they have completed a task by themselves, I make sure to get them to complete similar questions to ensure it is engrained into their minds. I will not move on until I believe this is the case. At the beginning of every session we will do some brief questions about the information covered in the previous lesson and then will move onto the next topic. I will also be preparing tests at the end of every core topic I.E. Algebra, and will break up some topics into two due to their size. At the same time I will make sure to keep it light hearted and due to being 21 years of age, I feel I am able to connect well with students.
Currently, I am studying a degree in Investment and Financial Risk Management at Cass. In the past I achieved an A* (8/9) in Mathematics in Year 10. I then went on the achieve an A in AS Mathematics in Year 11. I have further improved my mathematics skills, as I had to complete a mathematics course at my uni during my first year; thus refreshing my knowledge in GCSE and A level maths. Additionally, I tutored my cousin for 1 year and manage to increase his grade for a C(5) to an A(7). I still tutor him once a week and we will be achieving an A*(8/9) towards the end end of this acedemic year.
