With my enthusiasm and experience, pupils enjoy their own learning in our sessions. This increases both their confidence and knowledge, leading to greater success in both class and exams.

- How much do you charge?
Before starting any teaching, I offer a free, informal consultation to get to know the student and what they really want from their tuition.
Based on information from that meeting, I plan an initial, free first lesson (60 minutes) to see if I am the right tutor for the the student and their family. From this lesson, I can further assess what is needed by the student and suggest a plan for further lessons.
I charge between £20 and £35 per hour depending on the level to be taught.
I discount lessons if booked and paid for in advance as well as for longer lessons, such as 90 minutes or 2 hours, if booked before teaching.
- Where do you teach?
I tutor from a base in Ealing W5 and will travel to students homes.
- When are you available?
Mornings, afternoons and evenings from Monday to Friday.
Saturday sessions are also available.
Short intensive revision courses for individuals or small groups are also available - please email for details.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach pupils of all ages, covering KS2 and KS3 Science, specialising in preparing pupils for entry to independent and selective schools via 11+ and 13+ Science Common Entrance exams.
I offer tuition in all 3 Sciences to GCSE /IGCSE level and GCSE Maths.
Both Biology and Chemistry are offered at A level.
I also have experience in tutoring adult learners.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I love all aspects of Science and find it very rewarding to pass on my enthusiasm and knowledge, whilst trying to help my pupils enjoy their own learning in this subject.
I am friendly and relaxed in my approach to teaching, injecting some fun into lessons with different techniques to work on both strengths and weaknesses, whilst always maintaining high levels of learning. This boosts confidence so that students start to feel comfortable with the subject I love!
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am an experienced, successful teacher who has over 20 years classroom experience teaching pupils of all ages and differing abilities, in both secondary and primary schools.
During my teaching career, I have held both Head of Year and Head of Department posts.
Until recently, I worked part-time in a small, independent preparatory school in West London as Head of Science. I held this position for 10 years, whilst tutoring older pupils, mainly for 13+ CE, GCSE Science/Maths and A level Biology & Chemistry.
I am now a full-time private tutor working from a base in Ealing W5.
As an experienced tutor, I assess pupils' abilities, potential and problems at an initial session and then set achievable goals accordingly, working closely with my student and their family.
I also have experience in coaching PGCE Science students (both in schools and as a tutor) helping with subject knowledge, planning, assessment and classroom skills.
I am fully IT literate and also have considerable experience teaching Special Needs pupils and those with English as a foreign language.

You transformed "a hesitant, fond of science" young man into a science enthusiast !! His confidence soared and was reflected so well in his grades! The lessons were fun for him and I admired the way you held the critical balance between fun and crucial learning. Within a few lessons you had established weak areas and he moved from strength to strength. He started actively and confidently participating more in class. I sincerely thank you for all your guidance - really appreciate it.
I always really looked forward to my next lesson with Bella, her patience and natural skill at teaching really made my life easier, and made my performance in class surge upwards after just a few lessons. Whatever level you may be, Bella can really help to put you in the right frame of mind to do your best in your GCSEs.
Bella taught my son for his IGCSEs, and she did some marvellous work! With a can-do attitude she helped him a lot with his Chemistry and really consolidated his knowledge of Biology and Physics. It was a pleasure to have her, and I would recommend her to anyone at any academic level.
