I teach using a communicative- based method, which centers on inductive ways of learning. My classrooms are student centered; I structure my classes in accordance to learners competencies and needs. I incorporate active learning techniques such as dramatization, art workshops, photography, blogs, comics and role playing in order to enable learners to gain full agency in the process of learning. I can offer individual and group lessons in Italian language and culture, advanced grammar and conversation, Italian literature and visual culture as well as Italian for business and for fashion. I also offer editing and proof reading services for undergraduate students' dissertations and research essays in both English and Italian.
I received my Ph.D in Romance Languages from the University of Oregon and I am currently studying fine art photography at Central Saint Martins, UAL.
I have taught all levels of Italian language classes, Italian conversation and culture, including Italian photography and cinema, survey courses in medieval, early modern, and contemporary Italian literature, and translation workshops. I have also taught courses on Made in Italy and Fashion in Italy and I can teach specific courses on Italian language for business.
The price is for individual. If you are looking for a group session, the rate per hour will increase.

Perfect! Nicoletta was great for the limited refresh I needed. Would heartily recommend.
Nicoletta is a great tutor. She's been helping our primary-aged girls who are part bilingual gain confidence with their Italian language. Both girls need help with grammar, reading and writing. Nicoletta uses a creative, interactive method of teaching which engages with the kids in a way that they don't realise they are learning. Very reliable and organised. Highly recommend!
I’ve taken classes from her. She is fantastic!!! She puts her whole being into helping others learn. Niko makes it fun. She’s a very caring individual, dedicated to helping others. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to introduce people to the concepts and motivates them to succeed.
Niko was my professor last year and over this past summer. Niko has a true passion for what she is teaching. I've never had a professor that loves what they are teaching as much as she does. She has an immense knowledge of the topics and wants to share it. Not only does she encourage learning but she is constantly looking for new ways to learn as well. She wants to see her students succeed and will go above and beyond to help make that happen. I travelled to Italy with her on a study abroad program and she did the most incredible job. Again, fostering the learning of others and constantly learning as well. The best professor I have ever had. I can not recommend her enough. If you have the opportunity to learn/work with/from her, take it. Always, helpful, understanding, and wants to see you succeed.
Niko was my Italian professor while I was working on my BA. She is a fun, outgoing, and very friendly teacher who is incredibly dedicated to her students. She is skilled in helping students at all levels of Italian proficiency gain confidence in their use of Italian, and she never fails to keep students engaged in lessons. After having Niko in beginner's Italian, many of my classmates and I were inspired to continue with our Italian lessons through the intermediate and advanced courses offered at the university. Many of us even studied abroad in Italy thanks to encouragement we received from Niko. She is a highly qualified instructor who is sure to give all her students the attention and confidence they desire, so I would recommend Prof Niko to absolutely anyone seeking exciting and informative Italian lessons.
