I am an enthusiastic and experienced violin tutor based in the Manchester area. I have always enjoyed teaching and having recently completed my BMus course at the RNCM, am looking to expand my teaching activites.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Violin, Viola and Music Theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BMus (Hons) First Class from the Royal Northern College of Music.
I also have an ABRSM Grade 8 distinction in violin, an ABRSM Grade 6 merit in Music Theory and an ABRSM Grade 5 distinction in piano.
- How much do you charge?
Violin/Viola: £25 for 1 hour, £20 for 45 mins.
Music theory: £20 for 1 hour
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach at home in my flat in Hulme, Manchester. However, I am more than happy to travel to students' houses. I am willing to travel to Stockport and anywhere reasonably close. I can also travel further afield if my travel expenses are covered in addition to the lesson fee.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible and can usually fit my other work around my teaching. I am happy to teach both on weekdays and weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and levels are most welcome!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I neither encourage nor discourage my students to take exams, but am happy to prepare them for the ABRSM graded exams.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching privately since 2006. I have worked with students of all ages and varying abilities. I now also give chamber music coaching, and am the leader and sectional coach of the Orchestra of the King Edward Music Society. As a performer I give frequent solo and chamber music recitals working with several groups around Manchester.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
