About Jamie
- What kind of experience do you have?
Since graduating from Drama school, I have been lucky enough to work in television, film and stage. (I will soon be appearing as Malvolio in Twelfth Night at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall).
In my previous career, I was a researcher and occasional lecturer with the School of Computing at Lancaster University, where I held the prestigious post of Marie Curie fellow for two years. Over the years at Lancaster and before that at ETH Zurich, I worked on many cutting-edge and diverse projects, including: wearable computing, human activity recognition, integrated circuit design, telemedical heart-monitoring, and even 3D film making. I have also worked on more bizarre projects, such as: electronic fashion (creating a dress that lights up in different situations), a smart book that responds to its environment, and a jacket that detects your movement and plays music accordingly.
I have presented at several high-level academic conferences. As well as having tutored dozens of Masters-level students in Computer science.
