- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
This really depends on the tutee. I can use the internet to supplement current tutoring arrangements, via facebook, msn and email. I am not familiar with skype but can learn if needed!
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am an enthusiastic tutor with a real passion for my subject. I believe that every pupil can access the English National Curriculum and it is the teacher's job to find ways for the child to do this. I am creative in my approach and use a variety of different strategies to meet my objective including lots of visual and kinesthetic activities (such as using mini-whiteboards, drama activities etc). I believe learning should be engaging and fun! With each new tutee, I spend a trial lesson (of which there is no charge for) assessing their current level/grade and agreeing targets.
If you are an adult learner/ A Level student then I may be able to offer you special rates, as I have less experience in this area.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am a full time teacher of English. I have experience of teaching KS3-KS4 and tutoring KS2-KS5. For KS4 I have experience in teaching to the WJEC, AQA and EdExcel GCSE Exam specification, as well as WJEC Entry Level English. I have experience in teaching pupils with special needs, including ADHD, autism and behavioural difficulties.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes I have a recent CRB disclosure certificate (June 2009)
