- What kind of experience do you have?
I have recently passed my Diploma in Instrumental Teaching, reflecting my ability to teach to a consistently high standard.
My current private pupils vary in age and ability, and are taught over a weekly or fortnightly basis. I work as a Flute Tutor with ECaM (Every Child a Musician), which is a music tuition programme funded by the London Borough of Newham, where I teach music and music theory to primary school pupils. I have experience taking music workshops with secondary school pupils through my University's collaboration with the Widening Participation Team. I also have experience teaching more mature students, always taking care to pace the lessons at the speed of the pupil. I have experience working with adults and children with disabilities, and have facilitated a music workshop in a young adults hospice.
I have played in various music ensembles since I was a young girl and would love to inspire others in the same way that I have been inspired by my teachers. I am passionate about teaching and am always up for a challenge. At University I played the flute but I also learnt the French Horn and was a keen player in several touring orchestras including Film Orchestra, Wind Band, and both Contemporary and Classical orchestras. I also played in a flute trio which regularly performed and busked in the town of Chichester. I currently sing with the London Symphony Chorus who perform regularly at the Barbican, London.
Learning music can motivate you in so many other areas, so if you have a desire to achieve then I want to hear from you!
