I'm a former Head of Maths in a Sixth Form College, but am now retired from full-time teaching and give individual tuition in students' homes. I've been doing this in the Harrow area for the last 10 years.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Mathematics for GCSE, and A-level Maths and Further Maths (all modules). I also give tuition for University entrance Maths exams and for certain degree level Maths courses.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
BA (1st class Hons) in Mathematics, University of Oxford.
MSc in Mathematics, University of Warwick.
- How much do you charge?
For one 1-hour lesson a week in the Harrow area, I charge £22. There is often a discount if I am teaching more than one member of the same family, or more hours are required. For addresses outside Harrow, where travel by public transport requires changes, I may charge up to £4 extra.
- Where do you teach?
All my teaching is in students' homes. I teach in Harrow and adjacent areas (e.g. Stanmore, Bushey, Edgware, Watford, Hillingdon, Wembley).
- When are you available?
Throughout the day and early evening Mon-Fri.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Normally, I tutor only students who are 14 or older (though I sometimes teach younger siblings too). I teach at all levels for this age group.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE and A-level (single and double subject) Mathematics. STEP, Oxford Entrance etc.
- What kind of experience do you have?
During much of my 30 years teaching experience, I taught in a sixth form college, becoming Head of Mathematics there.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
