Methodology

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach all Brass instruments and Music Theory to any level.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Music from the Royal Northern College of Music and I am also currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music for a Master of Arts certificate.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £15 per half hour and £25 per hour. I do not charge anything for travel.

- Where do you teach?

I teach anywhere in London, I am based in NW London but have no problem traveling. I generally travel to and teach in the student's home but can offer an alternative if this is not possible.

- When are you available?

I am a freelance musician so this flexible and can be tailored to suit your needs. I am a full time resident of London.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach any age and any level / standard.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I prepare students for the ABRSM music exams as well as the music theory exams. I also have experience of preparing students for the other exam boards such as Trinity.

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have a lot of experience both as a teacher and a performer. As a teacher I have had private pupils for many years now and have just been appointed to the Ealing Music Service as a Brass Tutor. I have lead music workshops all over the country with my brass ensemble and also for other groups and organizations. As a performer I have worked with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, London Philharmonic Brass Ensemble, Britten-Pears Orchestra, broadcast on BBC Radio 3, and played with the world famous Black Dyke Brass Band.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes, several current ones.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester under the expert tuition of Ewan Easton, Robin Haggart, James Gourley, and Brian Kingsley. I am currently studying for a Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music under Patrick Harrild, Principal Tuba of the London Symphony Orchestra.
