My aim is to get the best out of every student in a fun and enjoyable way, whether they want to learn for fun or if they have serious career aspirations in music. Music is fun and I wish to keep it that way!

Violin, viola and chamber music. All lessons include musicianship and theory training.

First Class BMus Honours degree from RWCMD.
2012 recipient of the Eifion Evans Memorial Award for musical excellence.

Violin: £15 for 30 minutes,
£20 for 45 minutes
£25 for an hour
Chamber music: £20/hour
- Where do you teach?
I teach in my home in the Heath area of Cardiff. I can also travel anywhere accessible by train.
- When are you available?
I will be available during term times and I am very flexible and can work around the timetable of the student.

Violin - all ages and levels
Viola - all ages from absolute beginner to Grade 8
Chamber music - all ages up to Grade 8 abilities
Sibelius - all ages
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If the student wishes, I will prepare towards ABRSM exams. I will also prepare towards GCSE and A-level practical exams.
- What kind of experience do you have?
As an orchestral musician, I have played both professionally and as an amateur with orchestras such as Lancashire Sinfonietta, Welsh Concert Orchestra and Cardiff SInfonietta. As a soloist I have given short recitals and performed with the Lancashire Youth Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician I have performed for various events and concerts as leader of the Lancastrian Quartet and also with other chamber groups. I currently lead The Pendle Quartet.
As a composer, I was Young Composer in Residence in 2006 at Lancashire Sinfonietta after being awarded the Christopher Brooks Memorial Prize for composition.
I have taken part in many workshops and have tutored string sections of orchestras, including the 'Mzansi Cymru' project with Rhondda Cynon Taff intermediate and senior strings.
I have also been involved in teaching skills and workshop leadership courses at RWCMD.

I studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Marius Bedeschi, on a major scholarship.
I am currently studying a PgDip (Performance) course with Nick Whiting at RWCMD.
I have received composition tutoring from Timothy Redmond, Timothy Jackson and Peter Reynolds.
