- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have worked as a journalist for more than 10 years, and it's this passion that helps me ignite the creativity and engagement needed to pass the 11-plus and GCSE English.
I also have a Certificate in Education, as well as the PTLLS teaching qualification. Additionally, I am a chartered trainer and coach (CIEH). I am also a psychology graduate (the course covered biology and maths in parts, as well as psychology) with four A-levels (Maths, Chemistry, Biology and English Literature). I graduated in 2002. I am currently styudying a masters degree in Education at one of London's top universities.
With almost 100 students on my books, the numbers speak for themselves. Please get in touch with me today to discuss your child's needs and to book an initial assessment.
- How much do you charge?
The basic rate is £20 per hour, but some subjects cost £25 per hour, but the preferred method is a block booking of monthly sessions (which save you money, too):
1-5 hours a week - £120 per month
2 hours a week £167 per month
With an Ofsted registration, I can accept childcare vouchers, student finance and tax credits.
- Where do you teach?
Monday to Friday, I teach in my home in Bromley (where we have a purpose-built classroom in the shed). On Saturdays, I have centers in Catford (Castillo Road) and Beckenham (60 Beckenham Road, Beckenhan BR3 4LS).
I also provide live online tutoring sessions for children who live too far from Bromley, or for whom online tutoring would work better.
- When are you available?
I work Monday to Saturday. I can also accommodate Sunday evenings when urgent (GCSE revision, for example).
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
5-16 for English and maths (which includes GCSE level),
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
11-plus exams (independent schools) and grammar selection tests (covering English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning)

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I usually use Skype or Blackboard - both free for students to use.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
If you want to see results - and fast - please don't delay! Please get in touch to book an assessment with me today, as spaces are always filling up fast at this time of year.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring for eight years and have also been teaching Sunday School for the past four years. I am a mother of two children who are both private-school educated. Naturally, they are in all the top groups at school and have a passion for learning - so something is obviously working! :-)
I have an excellent track record of success with helping children secure a place in grammar schools in Kent, Bexley, Sutton and Wandsworth and the super selective schools in Bromley borough.
Each year, my students are also triumphant in independent school exams gaining multiple offers and scholarships along the way.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
