The teaching method I prefer for English Literature, is to help students with analysing the text and providing them with many annotations so that their ideas can form together and they can get a sense of how and what to analyse. I’d then like them to write mini essays with these annotations to see how they connect these ideas together. I’d do the same when teaching poetry.
For English Language, I like to give students different images & settings or random storylines and ask them to write passages.
If a student does not improve under me then I’ve failed, I want to push students and make the lessons as engaging and fun as possible, not just like a normal school lesson.
I’m an English student, have just finished my A level English Literature & Language studies as well as History & RS. I’ve studied poetry, comparative writing, creative writing & many books. I’ve always loved English, especially creative writing. I’m now studying at an undergraduate programme.
