- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French, English as a Foreign Language and Business French to individuals. "A la carte" translation services can also be provided.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
As a native French speaker, I took most of my degrees in France: A-Level first class Hons, BA Hons in English, BA Hons in History and MA in Communications. The French Board of Education also gave me in 1998 a Teaching Certificate for private tuition and tuition in public primary schools, which mostly covered the teaching of English and German to KS1 & 2 French pupils.
- How much do you charge?
Please see above. A free 30-minute assessment is proposed at the first meeting, followed by the first 1-hour course. Subsequent classes will usually last an hour. Longer classes will, however, be available if required, with sufficient advance notification. Translation services will have to be discussed and will depend on the technicality and the length of the translation. Standard fee would be £60 per 1,000 words.
- Where do you teach?
Adults can come to me if they wish (ME14) for evening classes. I can also travel in the evening or at the weekend to the following areas, with no added charge: ME15 - ME16 - ME17 - ME18 - ME19 - ME20. Teaching can also be given from the business premises (ME16) from Monday to Friday.
- When are you available?
Most convenient evenings are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm onwards. I could also accommodate adults in the ME16 area between 12pm and 1pm or between 1pm and 2pm. Saturdays are also a possibility, roughly between 10am-4pm (but this is flexible).
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I can teach children and adults at all levels and Business French to individuals.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching in French schools as mentioned above and have also given private tuition in English to KS3 and GSCE level French pupils.
I have been working and living in Maidstone for over 5 years now and have been using both English and French in a business capacity, on a daily basis.
Thanks to The Tutor Pages, I have now started teaching young adults and KS1 children.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I'm afraid I don't, but have references readily available from my present and past employers.
