The distant sound of singing drifts through my window from the Portakabin in the playground where Katerina is rehearsing a group for 'SISTER ACT', which now seems to be involving huge numbers of people... Katerina is an inspiration. I remember that at her interview we were somewhat concerned when she said she had to protect her voice, but in fact she has such authority that she never even has to raise it. Children recognize real professionalism when they see it.
I've been studying with Katerina for the last eight months. In that time I have gained valuable experience so much so I have recently been granted a scholarship with Riverside Opera Company. Katerina's teaching has enabled me not only to improve the quality of my voice but also to strengthen my singing technique, and gain the confidence to move forward in my singing career. I feel privileged to be working with an amazing performer and excellent teacher.
Katerina is an excellent singing teacher and a wonderful person. She not only strengthened my technique, transforming my voice, but nurtured me, encouraging my confidence. My only regret is that due to other commitments I was only able to have lessons with her every few weeks. Katerina's patience and clear instructions helped me to develop and I came away from each lesson happily feeling as though I had made a huge achievement and step forward. I would anticipate my lessons with her with excitement.
I had struggled to find a singing teacher in London who I felt helped me progress my voice the way I needed, until I met Katerina. I think what comes across most in her lessons is how much she genuinely cares about your voice: she finds what method works for you best, and above all makes the lesson fun! She herself is a complete inspiration and my voice has progressed more in the past 6 months than it did in the 5 years prior to meeting her!
Just wanted to let you know that I'm glad I found you! In just two sessions especially after applying the tips from yesterday for this evening, I was the only soprano singing with full voice, my voice sounded so clean and strong! Really appreciate the passion you show when teaching. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for such an amazing lesson, I already feel like I have learned so much! You are definitely the right teacher for me, and if you have time in your schedule I would love to come back for regular lessons.
Thank you again, I really enjoyed myself and you are a fantastic teacher!
I had a wonderful experience this week when I attended Katerina's concert at the London Hellenic Centre... What a transformation, then, when she appeared on stage, her pale shoulders rising from the most beautiful chiffon dress..Her programme ranged from Mozart to 'My Fair Lady' and we were all held spellbound by that exquisite soprano voice. I wonder if the children know quite what a privilege it is to be taught by Katerina. I have a feeling they do.
THANK YOU for everything you've taught me and you still do!!! You taught me things that really helped me improve, and that is because you cared for me from the first moment you heard my voice!!
YOU ARE A WONDERFUL TEACHER, with incredible talent in teaching and in the virtuosity of the voice!!! But above all, you are a wonderful person!!!! Perhaps the most important quality in a teacher!!!
Katerina has been a wonderful and dedicated teacher who not only helped me to improve my piano playing and to pass my Grade 8, but also gave me indispensable guidance and advice on how to tackle aural tests. Her experience as a performer has played a huge part in showing me how to increase the depth of emotion conveyed in my piano playing as well as covering all technical aspects of a piece of music.
