I am a masters student at the RNCM. I have been studying in Spain and also in Ireland. During my time there I have been giving lessons to a variety of flautists, young and old, beginner and advanced. Through these years I have developed an easy way of approaching the lessons and my students had been able to tell that they were making progress in a short amount of time.
Spanish-born flautist, Angel Pareja Francisco is the recipient of Helen Rachael Mackaness Charitable Trust award 2018-19and Waverley Fund 2018-19. He received a bachelor with honours at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he studied under Professor William Dowdall and Professor Patricia Morris.
Being very active as a chamber musician, he is a founding member of Maeyaert Duo (flute-harp) and Biemmi Quintet (flute-oboe-clarinet-bassoon-horn). He also takes part in Calla Flutes Quartet, a very versatile quartet that uses bass, alto, piccolo and normal flutes in every different combination. He also regularly performs in Cuarta Duo with the pianist Carlos Sanchis with whom is approaching very exciting and rare repertoire.
He has made several recordings, for the Irish radio and television RTÉ One, BBC 3 being part of the BBC Philharmonic, Near FM, Alhaurin TV and Spanish National TVE La 1.
As an orchestral player, Angel has performed all around Ireland in places such as the National Concert Hall, also in Budapest, in Spain in major places like National Concert Hall or Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada and United Kingdom in the Regent Hall. He has played along BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, RIAM Philharmonia, RIAM Symphony Orchestra, RNCM Opera Orchestra, Ivan Galamian Academy Orchestra or Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra. He has been lucky to work alongside great conductors like Andrew Gourlay, Moritz Gnann, Gerhard Markson, Kenneth Montgomery, Andrew Mogrelia or Martin André. As a soloist, he has enjoyed playing Mozart Flute Concerto in G Major and Reinecke Flute Concerto in D Major, two gems of the flute repertoire performed while his staying in Dublin with the Dublin Symphony Orchestra and Trinity Dublin Orchestra.
As forthcoming events, Angel will be playing as the first flute with the Michael Haydn Orchestra, a concert in Manchester Cathedral conducted by Marco Bellasi. At the end of June, he will have his debut as principal flute of the RNCM Symphony Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall, conducted by Elim Chan.
He has received masterclasses from Sir James Galway, William Bennett, Joshua Batty, Lorna McGhee, Adam Walker, Vicens Prats, Magdalena Martínez, Javier Castiblanque and Kristian Steen-strup.
Currently pursuing his Master of Music in Performance studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under Professors Kevin Gowland, Laura Jellicoe and Susan Milan.
