About the lesson
I am a student and so I understand the mind of a student very well. I offer all types of English learning, from ESL to business English to English literature; I can teach phonetics, reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, speaking, and also offer proofreading and editing services. I teach lessons to anyone, whether a 5 year old needing help learning to read, an 11 year old working on their spelling, a 15 year old preparing for exams, or a university student working on coursework. I can also provide tutoring for business professionals and adults. My teaching approach is totally catered to each person- some people prefer really structured classes, some prefer a more relaxed format; some people need extra help with grammar whilst others need to focus on their comprehension skills. We can figure out the best structure for you, together!

I am a Masters student studying Arts & Cultural Management, with a Bachelor's degree (with Honours) in International Events Management with French. I have been tutoring since middle school, offering help to friends and family friends, and have since been helping people smash their essays and exams. I enjoy helping students improve their general English, working on everything from vocabulary, grammar, idioms, spelling, writing, enunciation, reading, speaking, listening... and more!

When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
I enjoyed studying English since primary school, and really grew interested in it during the IB when I realised my essay writing skills were saving my grades. I love to write essays and meet briefs, and Language, Linguistics, and Literature deeply interest me.
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I teach everything under the umbrella of English: Business English, Adult learner English, English as a second language (ESL), essay writing, exam preparation, spelling, grammar, IB English, language, literature, GCSE, iGCSE, A Level, University level work up to post graduate... I'm very open to work with students on all sorts of tasks.
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
Patience, flexibility, openness, a positive attitude and demeanour, and the willingness to make mistakes and learn from others - we may be teaching, but that doesn't stop us from being able to learn at the same time!
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
I suck at mathematics and thankfully in the IB you must complete coursework for every single subject. Therefore, I managed to score a high overall grade in my IB Maths class thanks to my strong essay on the effect of Hip Hop music on Students' grades.
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?
Sometimes it's difficult to explain to an ESL learner or non native speaker a particular idiom or rule from the English language... we always find a way though!
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
My passions include languages, mindfulness, food, interculturalism, music, and film.
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?
I pride myself in being flexible to meeting every single unique need of each student, and finding the best way to achieve their aims and goals together. I love meeting my new students from around the globe, getting to know them, helping them to improve their English, or prepare for their board meeting, substantially raise their grades at school or uni, or make them feel more confident with their spelling and writing. Each student is a challenge and an adventure!
