Personal Profile
I am an experienced teacher having gained my secondary PGCE in 2003. Since this time I have worked in state secondary schools, with my current school having academy status. I have taught to a wide variety of students throughout KS3, 4 and 5. A significant part of this experience has been in various leadership roles, to include KS3 co-ordinator, Intervention co-ordinator, Head of Biology and currently Second in Science.

I always work with enthusiasm and I love working with young people from all backgrounds. I truly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to receive an excellent education and the chance to succeed

As well as my teaching skills I am extremely organised and have excellent IT skills. Students find me fair and I pride myself in being able to build a rapport with students from all backgrounds and of all abilities.

Outside the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family and I love the outdoors and travelling around the UK as well as abroad.

Skills and Courses
I have attended a large number of training courses including subject specific examination board courses, particularly regarding the delivery of the new GCSE and GCE courses. Courses have also included “Talk less teaching”, behaviour management workshops and teaching less able students. I have also provided training to members of my department in terms of the new GCSE delivery and preparation.
