The Art of conversation and Public Speaking is taught by developing a relationship with language, words, tone, and the way ones face and body support the connection. . From eye contact to avoiding too much eye contact, to sound assertive without sounding domineering, learned and interesting without being full of oneself and overly pedantic. To give space to listen and guide a conversation interestingly and safely, whether it’s a fun or serious conversation, or indeed as some of the best are, a bit of both.
Acting: In order to understand the craft of ‘acting’ one must understand not only an actors greatest tool, their “self”, with all its fascinating components, but the wonderful universe of human emotion, cognition, the body & voice & its inter connectivity. Only then can we travel via to the text to the character & expression. I believe the art of emulating the human experience is a lesson in life itself. With respect, humility, empowerment & imagination we explore the aspects of how to perform without seeming to perform. My classes are tailor made individually to my students needs. TV/Theatre/Film or just developing skills for expression, deportment, understanding posture or exploring a text through its characters.
With over 35 years of professional expertise in theatre, over 25 of experience as an actor on screen & 28 years teaching children and adults the craft of acting, my classes are a process & experience to strengthen skills in expression, emoting, feeling & kinesiology. I invite students to learn and through their learning teach, as we share the wonderful world of connections & communication through text & humanity.
