My name is Rochelle and I have been working with children across ages 0 - 11 for approximately 9 years now. I am offering a tuition service (for Math and English) to students who are in KS1&2.
I am patient and understand abilities of children vary - my experience has enabled me to develop many teaching styles to suit the individual child.
I will spend a full hour on the above areas of the curriculum and make a goal list with the student. It is important that the student is included in the process and I have found that this helps with motivation and focus.
I worked a year in a year 6 class and had 3 groups that I worked closely with on a daily basis. The sessions include the following: Math, reading, spelling and phonics, grammar and writing. I worked very closely with students who were under the national standard for their age or were just on target and needed support in staying there. I saw great improvements since my mentoring sessions in Math and English had begun - students were reaching the national standard comfortably. The groups rotated due to some children no longer needing the sessions but by the end I had taught, in this arrangement, 22 children.
My sessions will include the whole curriculum for Math and English, techniques in completing age appropriate questions, encouragement and support for confidence and academic success! I will also help with homework and give appropriate challenges to develop their learning further.
I worked with Rochelle for a year in a primary school year 6 classroom. She is always dedicated to her role and is highly enthusiastic about making teaching engaging and interactive for all children. Rochelle’s willingness to adapt her lessons for each individual child has a huge impact on them academically and personally. From my experience, children love working with Rochelle and most importantly, they make excellent progress.
