- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Russian and EAL lessons are available online via Skype, which means that you don't have to be living in the UK to have lessons.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
It's never too late to learn a new language either from scratch or to improve your existing language skills. My lessons are fun and I try to make the complex areas of a language, such as grammar, easier to understand. I am always available via email either to check the completed homework or provide support outside of lessons. Before arranging a first lesson with new students, I usually speak to them on the phone to get an understanding of their current language skills. Unless a potential student is a complete beginner, then the task at hand is clear :)
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been tutoring Russian and EAL for several years. It's usually on a 1-to-1 or small groups basis.
I teach all levels.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes. An enhanced DBS certificate.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I teach all the aforementioned subjects at a private school in Somerset.
I also have private students.
EAL/FCE/CAE/Russian - £25 per hour
IELTS/Business English - £30 per hour
If lessons are outside of Bath:
- lessons - 2 hours (as a minimum)
- mileage at £0.45/per mile will be charged in addition to the hourly rate
• Valid enhanced DBS
Lena is a true professional - learning English was fun, easy and interesting. Lena prepared me for the IELTS exam, helped me to write a CV and prepare for a job interview in English. As a result, I achieved 6.5 in IELTS and secured a job with Topshop.
Thank you for all your help with my learning Russian. You have made it enjoyable, and much easier to understand the differences between Russian and English. I appreciate the relaxed atmosphere of the lessons, the extra help by email, and the really good balance of encouragement and push to improve. I am not a natural when it comes to learning languages, and without you I would not have learnt anyway near as much as I do now. I look forward to improving further with your help in the future.
